Founded in 1965 to provide product identification and critical information displays and signs for aerospace local businesses. What began as a specialized metal sign manufacturer for businesses all over California, has become a multi-faceted printing and fabrication company serving a wide variety of businesses all over the world.
Orange County Nameplate has earned a reputation for quality, craftsmanship and excellent customer service. We are proud to offer our customers a range of services for product identification. From concept to design, prototype to production, we help your product garner instant recognition and real-life branding that will withstand the tests of time.
The foundation of our company was built on perfecting the screen printing and fabricating techniques required to create Product ID and Data plates for the demanding needs of Aerospace and Motorsport industries. Constantly evolving and growing with our clientele has helped Orange County Nameplate to expand in to other technologies and industrial sectors — including: Medical Device manufacturers, Entertainment industries and everyday signage, point of sale and display.
Currently in its second generation of family ownership, Orange County Nameplate is constantly focused on providing the quality and service that has been a driving legacy of its operation for decades.
Elias "ROD" Rodriguez founded Orange County Nameplate in 1965. Raised in East Los Angeles, at the early age of 16, "Rod" began working with his father laying concrete. Shortly after, he got hired at a printing and nameplate company in LA. His hard work and determination paid off, as he was quickly promoted to foreman.
During those years, he met the love of his life — Rebecca. They soon married and began a family. Now the father of 5 boys, "Rod" would work at the nameplate company by day and as a veterinarians assistant on the weekends. He even moonlighted with a couple of friends out of a small garage in Garden Grove, hand-stamping and serializing nameplates for a few small customers. Soon, that side-hustle needed a name and Orange County Nameplate was born.
By 1970, news of Rod's craftsmanship and work-ethic had spread and Orange County Nameplate secured their first official shop. At a mere 1,000 sq. ft. they soon outgrew that space and moved again in 1971 to a 12,000 sq. ft facility in Santa Fe Springs. Demand for Rod's work skyrocketed and new services were added. Orange County Nameplate became known for the highest quality Silk Screen Printing, Chemical Etching, Stripping and Engraving, Painting, Serializing, Barcoding, Embossing, Forming and Fabrication — all on the the thinest of flexible materials, to the most ridge heavy-duty metals — there was nothing Rod and his team couldn't do.
From a garage in Garden Grove, to the trusted resource for Aerospace, Military and Medical contracts, in just a matter of years — Rod and Orange County Nameplate now needed to move again. Our current location is 32,000 sq. ft. dedicated to creating the best quality product identification and critical information displays available.
Rod has since passed on, but his legacy of craftsmanship, integrity and customer service is carried on by his sons. Orange County Nameplate, more than half-a-century later, remains rooted in quality and doing right by our customers — just like Rod did it from day one. Newer technologies have allowed us to expand in to markets only dreamed of in the early days, but our commitment to old-school morals and the importance of a handshake keep us grounded in where we came from and laser-focused on where we are going.
